Compact crossovers have come a long way from their experimental stage to becoming the most popular and profitable segment in the automotive industry. The Jeep Compass is one of the few compact crossovers that entered the segment during its gradual rise and has now established itself in multiple markets around the world including the U.S. The Jeep Compass offers both practicality and performance in a compact package while also carrying the rich legacy and DNA of a brand as legendary as Jeep. And in its 2021 avatar, it is better than ever.
The Jeep Compass is currently in its second generation and receives the following updates for the 2021 model year – addition of a new 80th Anniversary Edition that is based on the Latitude trim level and more standard active safety features for the Limited and Trailhawk trims such as lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control. The Jeep Compass is pretty powerful for a compact crossover. The 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque producing a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine are responsive and potent enough to put a smile on your face. The engine comes mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and the power is sent to the front wheels through the front-wheel-drive system. For more enthusiastic drivers, the Compass can also be configured with all-wheel drive and nine-speed automatic transmission. The 2021 Compass is nimble around corners and is impressive on straight stretches as well.
Cloth upholstered seats are offered as standard on the lower trims. You can upgrade it to vinyl and cloth upholstered seats as well. The base trim comes with six manually adjustable front seats, and this can be upgraded to eight-way power-adjustable heated & ventilated front seats, driver’s seat memory setting, and leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift-knob. Coming to features, the 2021 Compass comes with a user-friendly Uconnect infotainment system that comes equipped with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, two USB ports, a six-speaker sound system, and a rearview camera as standard features. Based on the requirement, customers can upgrade to an 8.4-inch touchscreen display, a panoramic sunroof, HD Radio, and a nine-speaker Alpine premium audio system, to name some of them.
Jeep also offers a variety of safety features like blind-spot monitoring system, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, rain-sensing windshield wipers, lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, and lane-keep assist.
